Question 1

How long is the payback period for a gang saw to multi-wire conversion?

Accepted Answer

The average payback period for Nova's multi-wire conversion system is 6 to 10 months. By significantly reducing kerf loss and increasing slab output, most stone processing factories fully recover their investment within their first year of high-volume production.

Question 2

What is the comprehensive cutting cost per square meter compared to traditional gang saws?

Accepted Answer

While the initial diamond wire consumption cost is slightly higher than steel blades and grit, the comprehensive cutting cost per square meter is reduced by 15% to 25%. This is achieved through a 30% reduction in power consumption, 40% lower water usage, and drastically minimized slurry disposal costs.

Question 3

Does the ultra-thin wire cut lead to high wire consumption costs?

Accepted Answer

No. Our optimized bead-matrix technology and tension control system ensure that ultra-thin diamond wires (such as 0.55mm to 0.65mm) maintain excellent wear resistance. The lifespan is balanced, delivering premium slab surface quality with a highly competitive cost-per-square-meter ratio.

Question 4

What is the maximum hardness of granite or quartzite that your multi-wire system can cut efficiently?

Accepted Answer

Our multi-wire system can efficiently cut up to Class 7 to 8 hard granite and premium quartzite. We customize the diamond bead formulas (varying diamond concentration and bond hardness) based on your specific stone materials to ensure stable cutting speeds and long wire life.

Question 5

What is the recommended linear speed and feed speed for cutting marble blocks?

Accepted Answer

For premium marble blocks, we recommend a linear wire speed of 24 to 28 m/s and a downward feed speed (cutting rate) of 25 to 40 cm/h, depending on the stone variety and wire diameter. This balance ensures high efficiency while preventing slab deflection.

Question 6

What is the average lifespan of your diamond wire saws for marble profiling?

Accepted Answer

Nova's premium diamond wire saws for marble profiling deliver an average lifespan of 25 to 40 square meters per linear meter of wire, depending on the complexity of the profiles and the abrasiveness of the marble.

Question 7

Can my existing gang saw frame withstand the tension of a multi-wire system?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Nova's conversion solution includes an engineered structural reinforcement kit for your existing frame. We customize the tensioning system to distribute the load precisely, ensuring your original machine frame easily handles the constant tension of the multi-wire setup without deformation.

Question 8

How many days of factory downtime are required for the multi-wire conversion onsite?

Accepted Answer

On-site mechanical and electrical retrofitting typically requires 30 to 40 days of downtime. Our engineering team conducts comprehensive pre-assembly and precision testing before shipment to ensure the smoothest possible installation, calibration, and commissioning at your factory.

Question 9

What is the cost difference between retrofitting and buying a new machine?

Accepted Answer

Retrofitting typically costs 30-50% less than purchasing a new multi-wire machine, while delivering comparable performance. The exact savings depend on your existing machine's condition and the scope of modifications required. We provide detailed cost-benefit analysis during consultation.

Question 10

Will retrofitting affect my existing foundation?

Accepted Answer

In most cases, the existing foundation can be reused with minor modifications. Our engineering team assesses foundation strength and makes recommendations. Some projects require foundation reinforcement, which we include in the retrofitting scope. The goal is to maximize reuse of existing infrastructure.

Question 11

What does turnkey installation include?

Accepted Answer

Our turnkey installation service covers: site assessment and foundation planning, equipment delivery and positioning, electrical and mechanical installation, wire tensioning and calibration, test cutting and quality verification, operator training, and final commissioning. You receive a fully operational production line ready for immediate use.

Question 12

How does the system prevent or detect wire breakage during unattended night shifts?

Accepted Answer

Our conversion system features an advanced Automatic Wire-Breakage Protection and Tension Monitoring System. The moment an abnormal tension drop or wire break is detected, the sensors trigger an immediate emergency stop (within milliseconds) and send an alert, completely preventing damage to the stone blocks or the machine.

Question 13

Do you provide overseas installation, commissioning, and operator training services?

Accepted Answer

Yes, absolutely. Nova provides complete global technical support, including on-site installation by our experienced technicians, system commissioning, and rigorous training for your operators on tension adjustment, speed control, and routine maintenance.

Question 14

Do you provide remote technical support?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we offer 24/7 remote technical support via video call, email, and messaging apps (WeChat/WhatsApp). Our engineers can diagnose issues, guide troubleshooting procedures, and provide real-time assistance. For complex problems, we can arrange on-site service visits.

Question 15

What is your warranty policy?

Accepted Answer

New installations include a 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects and workmanship. Retrofitting projects include a 6-month warranty on conversion work. Warranty does not cover normal wear parts (wire, rollers) or damage from improper operation. Extended warranty options are available.
